what do I wear to my session?

Our 30 years of experience in the portrait business have enabled us to develop guidelines and criteria for our type of portraiture. When followed, we feel confident the result will be a finished portrait that both you and our studio will be proud to display. We encourage your input and individuality both in planning and during your session.

In general, clothing should be simple and comfortable so that the attention in the final portraits will be focused on the subjects. Avoid bold patterns such a plaid, big stripes, large flowers and loud colors, etc. unless used as accent pieces or when you have planned a very stylized portrait with your photographer. Layering is always good. Think about accents from the same color family. Make sure clothing fits well and is in good contition... rumpled is sometimes okay, but wrinkled is not. Worn works, but worn out is a no. All grooming in the way of waxing, plucking, cutting, and dyeing should be completed sometime before the shoot.

Family Sessions: When preparing your family's attire, keep in mind that all black or all white is classic but make sure your selection is not too matchy-matchy for a more current look. Consider earthtones or accent pieces in the same color family. Please make sure all family members are well rested. If young children are involved, your appointment should be at a time best suited for their schedule. Be sure you know how to get to the studio and how much travel time is required so that you will not have to rush or be late for your appointment. If there is a doubt about the time required for the route, please call the studio. Women usually photograph better in sleeves. Children seem to be the most natural and relaxed in casual and comfortable clothing. You may bring a selection of clothing to the studio the day of your session and we will assist you in your final choice.

Seniors: You may bring up to 4-6 outfits. Make sure you include accessories (hats, scarves, jewelry, etc.). Outfits can also be out of season... spring dresses can be worn in the studio in the winter and fall clothes can be used in the summer. Wear what makes you feel great! Props are encouraged so don't forget to bring insruments, bikes, cars, and sporting equipment to name a few.

Be sure to select and assemble your clothing and props before the day of your session. Please be certain that nothing is missing, clothing is wrinkle free and nothing is in need of repair. Excitement and anticipation are key ingredients in every successful portrait. Please look forward to your session because we are!

what can I expect at my senior session?

Sessions typically last about 2 hours, with some time to take a sneak peak at a few images at the end! We photograph our seniors both in the studio and on location in surrounding areas. We tell our seniors to bring 4-6 outfits and we will help you choose the best looks. There is not a definite limit to outfits; we will photograph what our time together allows and what will look best in your finished images! You can expect fun, laughter, and an incredible experience from your session!

where will my senior session take place?

We photograph our sessions both in our studio and numerous outdoor locations nearby, both urban and rural. We will meet you at the studio in Norman where we will help you put together your looks and discuss your style!

how do I see my pictures after my session?

We will email a link to your personal web gallery about 48 hours after your session. Web galleries are formatted for desktop and laptop computers only. These web galleries are not compatible on mobile devices. Contact sheets are available if you do not have convenient access to online sources for an additional charge.

how do I order pictures?

There are multiple ways to order your images. We suggest making an ordering appointment. This can be done by calling the studio or sending an email. Ordering appointments last 1 hour. One of our talented team members will meet with you to go through your images and help you decide which images are your favorite. We suggest taking a look around your home to think about where you might like to display your images and what sizes might work best in your space. Also consider family members and close friends that would love to have a print!

If you have ordered contact sheets, we include a price sheet in your envelope. We can also send our price sheet via email if you have asked for a web gallery. If you know exactly what you want, you can fill out the order form and mail, email or drop it by the studio! Please be sure to complete all the details found on your form.
